As we are in the midst of our 2015 season, we’re excited to introduce you to the guides who are ready to serve your family or your group this summer!
Kendra Wildenberg has joined us for her first summer with JQ! We are excited for the enthusiasm she has brought and will bring to the team. She is from Morrison, Colorado, but has been living in Grand Junction where she just finished her junior year in the Nursing program at Colorado Mesa University. One will find Kendra in her element when doing anything outdoors, she loves trail running, ran cross country for five years before college and now on Club XC team at Mesa, rock/ice climbing (by no means an expert), hiking everyday she gets the chance, snowboarding, backpacking and camping. Since the beginning of college she has tried to go on at least one international trip a year, among these are: Mexico, Peru, Chile and El Salvador (as you can see she loves South and Central America – it’s all about the culture, language and people). El Salvador was her first and only international mission trip so far (Spring 2014). She went with the Catholic Ministries on campus, and while down there they lived in one of the poorest cities in the country with local families and helped out at a nearby school. Kendra and her team brought school supplies, helped teach both an English and gym class during their stay. “Those ten year olds kicked my butt in soccer – so talented”. She was so humbled by this experience and hopes to do more of these trips throughout her life.
Kendra is hoping to learn and grow so much through Journey Quest: not only guiding wise but spiritually as well. Working with us she will have great opportunities to challenge herself, and others, all while doing awesome activities in the beautiful scenery God created for us to enjoy. J If she is able to help others understand more about faith and love, that of course would be an incredible bonus. This should be a fantastic experience overall and she is so excited to be a part of such a great company!
