What Ages are Your Trips Appropriate For?
Our single-day rafting trips in Bighorn Canyon are appropriate for boys on the Woodlands Trail with enough adult participation. The older Trailmen, however, will benefit much more from our single-day trips.
Our overnight trips are appropriate for Trail Life Navigators and Adventurers. We’ll customize a trip with appropriate challenge level for the age group you bring.
As you look at our various trips, you will notice that each trip lists the recommended minimum age along with the other trip details.
What Trail Badges can We Earn?
Journey Quest is able to help you meet requirements for several Trail Badges, such as:
- Whitewater Rafting/Kayaking
- Rock Climbing
- Outdoor Cooking
It is unlikely that you’ll earn all the requirements for a certain badge in a single trip. If there is something you would like us to focus on for your troop, just let us know and we’ll try to customize the trip to meet those requirements.
Can You Do A 5-Day Backpacking Trip?
We can certainly do a 5-day backpacking trip! Check off one of the main requirements for the backpacking Trail Badge as you learn other skills on one of our incredible backpacking trips. If you are seeking to hike a certain number of miles, we can definitely try to help you meet your goal. A 5-mile day with 4,000 feet of elevation change will often feel much harder than a 12-mile day with 1,000 feet of change. Some troops take the mileage and elevation change on a longer backpacking trip, as well as the distance traveled on rafts and kayaks on the same trip, to be calculated into the total miles traveled on the trip.
Do Your Staff Undergo Background Checks?
Yes, each of Journey Quest’s guides goes through a staff application process which includes a criminal background check, at least three references, and a thorough interview.
