Climbing for Christ
As a Christ-centered Wilderness Ministry, Journey Quest strives to have a greater purpose behind all of our trips than just having fun. Our rock climbing trips are perfect for your family, friends, or youth group who are looking to grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Our guides seek opportunities to use even a couple hours together climbing to share about the love and grace that is found in Jesus Christ. Whether you’re already a Christ-follower or if you’ve never come to know Him, we would love to share what He’s done in our lives and encourage you to take the next step in faith – whether that be increasing in love for Him or beginning a lifelong relationship with Jesus. Rock Climbing
Learn About Climbing
The sport of Rock Climbing was established in the late 1800s, originating in Germany, Italy, and England. The most common forms of climbing are sport climbing, trad climbing, aid climbing, and top-rope climbing. Sport, Trad, and Aid Climbing require placing gear such as quickdraws, hexes, nuts, and cams along the route and clipping your rope to the gear as you ascend. Top-rope climbing has a fixed anchor system at the top of the route with an end attached to the climber and the other end attached to a belayer, ready to catch the climber if they fall. Today, incredible innovations in climbing gear and significant mainstream attention have established rock climbing as a very popular sport as it continues to see tremendous growth in the outdoor community.
Climbing Safe
As a beginner or intermediate climber, guided climbing trips are the safest way to learn. Our guides are regularly trained and refreshed on current safety procedures and techniques to help maintain a safe climbing environment. We regularly inspect and replace used gear to provide a high-quality climbing experience for all of our guests.
