As we near the beginning of our 2016 season, we’re excited to introduce you to the guides who are ready to serve your family or your group this summer!
Denise Andersen was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado, a beloved hometown with an unfortunate reputation for stinky smells. She has recently moved to Grand Junction, however, to finish her schooling with a semester of student teaching. In May 2016 she will graduate with two bachelor’s degrees: Elementary Education and Spanish Education. When she is not planning lessons or grading papers she loves to hit the ski slopes or shred her hands at the climbing gym. She loves to explore God’s creation and stand in amazement at his power and glory. Denise also has a passion for music, especially singing. She says she’s, “stoked to worship God by singing songs and jamming out on guitar this summer!”
This is Denise’s 3rd summer with JQ. She has been involved in many other ministries through her church Bethel Baptist in Greeley, including the college ministry and the worship team. She cannot wait to share the hope that she has in Christ with others. She says, “My joy truly comes from God’s overflowing grace and love. It’s crazy how much God loves me, despite what I think, say, and do.” Denise says she cannot wait to share the beauty of the gospel with the Journey Quest staff and the people who visit this summer.
