As we near the beginning of our 2013 season, we’re excited to introduce you to the guides who are ready to serve your family or your group this summer!
Ben McLam grew up on a farm in Fairfield Idaho where he says he got his first job driving a tractor long before he had a driver’s license. Ben attended Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated in 2012 with a music degree. He loves playing the piano (“Like Beethoven” according to another guide who’s heard him play). Or for that matter, he loves anything musical. We’re expecting some pretty good thwart-drumming and raft-paddle-playing this summer.
When not on the keys, Ben enjoys snowboarding, playing team sports (hello ultimate-frisbee), and learning new things, which is good because, as he says, “I’ve never ever been rafting even once in my entire life.” That’s about to change.
Since graduating, Ben has taught private piano lessons in the Grand Junction area and volunteering as a leader with Young Life. He loves connecting with students and looks forward to many opportunities to share his faith in Christ through outdoor adventure activities. We’re excited that Ben is joining our team this summer!
