This Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip is our most popular rafting adventure! It launches from our site at Texas Creek and continues for an amazing 14 miles of Arkansas River whitewater. You’ll love the scenery, the adventure, and the intentional ministry led by our guides as you experience the most exciting rapids in Bighorn Sheep Canyon. This is an excellent trip for families and groups wanting to spend more time on the river!

Because of the distance, most outfitters only offer this as a full day trip. However, our location in Texas Creek allows us to offer it in a half-day format, making it an exceptional value. This trip was formerly called the 3/4 Day Bighorn Sheep Canyon run. It’s still the same great trip, just a different name!

Like all our trips, the purpose of this trip is much more than just whitewater rafting. Our guides seek opportunities to use even a few hours together on the river to share about the love and grace that is found in Jesus Christ. Whether you’re already a Christ-follower or if you’ve never come to know Him we would love to have the opportunity to share about what He’s done in our lives and encourage you to take the next step in faith – whether that be increasing in love for Him or beginning a lifelong relationship with Jesus. We seek to do this in a non-threatening, conversational way using stories, sharing spiritual analogies, and taking time to pray for you and your specific needs. To learn more about how and why we do this, see About Us and Why Journey Quest?

Early / Late Season: At lower water levels (typically early May and late August through September) we usually modify this trip to a 9 mile trip, like the 1/2 Day Fast Action, but the extra time allows for a more relaxed pace with more opportunities to swim and enjoy Colorado’s Arkansas River.
