Meet Our Guides: Josh Kerby

As we near the beginning of our 2015 season, we’re excited to introduce you to the guides who are ready to serve your family or your group this summer!

Kerby close upJosh Kerby is originally from San Diego. However, his family moved to Colorado Springs when he was a year old, thus he considers himself from Colorado. This semester he received 2 certifications from Pikes Peak Community College; they are Mountain Field Studies and Winter Field Studies. Other than these he has no degrees. This fall, he is taking a break from school to gain some composure for his future. He’s not sure what he is going to do, but working for a ski resort is in his list of options.

Josh enjoys wandering through the wilderness on backpacking trips (his favorite), rock climbing all the radical routes, rafting the gnarly rapids, bagging the peaks, cooking, and enjoying the company of awesome friends in the back-country. Along with these is his unique enjoyment of creating things with chain mail. He’s made all sorts of things to include: belts, crosses, a coif (a chain mail head covering), and other awesome items. Fun fact, a llama has spit on Josh!! When you think about it, it’s pretty gross, but you never know what will happen when you spend as much time outside as he does. This summer will be his 2nd with Journey Quest. He is excited to grow deeper in his relationship with Jesus, meet some awesome people who will hopefully become friends, to learn a lot, and live to the fullest extent of God’s glory.
