Thank you for your interest in serving with us at Journey Quest! We seek staff who have a passion to know and serve Jesus Christ, a heart to minister to youth and families, and a desire to serve in an outdoors-based wilderness ministry.

We are headquartered in Colorado at Texas Creek, located between Canon City and Salida on Highway 50. We offer whitewater rafting adventures on the Arkansas River through Bighorn Sheep Canyon and the Royal Gorge.

Each season we hire full time as well as weekend and on-call staff. The benefits of working with Journey Quest include: lots of time on the river and in the mountains, spiritual growth & discipleship, excellent training, time for outdoor pursuits, discounts on gear, most Sundays off, and being a part of a family atmosphere.

The selection process occurs as follows:

  1. Download and complete a Staff Application Form and mail or email it back to Journey Quest.
  2. Request recommendations to be sent directly Journey Quest from at least three references. These can be other employers, pastors, ministry leaders, and close friends who know you well.
    1. Online Version of Staff Reference Form — You can copy and paste the following URL into an email you send each reference:
      http://journeyquest.org/employment/reference/
    2. Printable Version of Staff Reference Form — Download and print this version if your reference would rather fill out the form and mail it to us.
  3. Journey Quest will evaluate each applicant based on qualifications and alignment with our mission, statement of faith, and core values. In addition, we will review and/or contact your references.
  4. Journey Quest will contact you to set up an interview.
  5. Job offers will be made to the best applicants. (Usually by the end of March)
  6. If you apply for a river guide position with no prior experience, you will be required to attend our 6-day rafting clinic, and then complete 2-3 weeks of additional training in June.
  7. Experienced guides may be asked to participate in an on-river interview before a formal offer is made. All river experience should be documented and included with the application.
  8. Upon accepting the job offer, Journey Quest will discuss starting dates and other details regarding the whitewater rafting season.

Thanks again for your inquiry and we wish you the best in your pursuit of employment this summer. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
